OUR PLAN IS TO MAKE ABIA LOOK LIKE DUBAI SAYS ABIA STATE OPEN SPACE BOSS (PHOTOS)

The General Manager Abia State Open Space Development Commission Mr. Ukaeje Ukpabi says that the intention of the Commission henceforth is to ensure that the State looks like Dubai in its resolve to plant trees and flowers across the State.

Mr. Ukpabi, who gave the assurance during the Commissions commencement of its activities at the State Secretariat Umuahia, hinted that since 2005 when the law establishing the Commission was signed, not much has been done, but explained that henceforth it will ensure that the beauty of the State remains its priority.

The Town Planner further stressed that Open Space provision in has begun in some local government areas such as Arochukwu, Isiala Ngwa North and South, Umuahia being the capital city and Aba the commercial nerve center, adding that the vision of the Commission is to make the State beautiful and green.

He mentioned States such as Imo, AkwaIbom, CrossRiver where a lot of places has been designated for beautification of flowers and planting of trees, noting that Abia State will soon be marked out as the most beautiful State in the Country.

Mr. Ukaeje Ukpabi thanked Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and the Permanent Secretary Mrs. Joy Nwakanma for their efforts in ensuring that Abia State is renewed through tree planting as part of the government’s clean and green initiative and used the medium to call on all Abians to join hands with the government in its desire to beautify the State so as to be more habitable even for the generations yet unborn.
