ABIA GOVT RAISES ALARM, WARNS AGAINST STAGED PROTEST

Press Release

Abia State Government wishes to alert members of the public that it has uncovered plots by some detractors to hire hoodlums and disguise them as Abia civil servants for the purposes of staging  a  protest against Government in Abuja.

We wish to warn the hoodlums and their sponsors that they risk arrest and prosecution as relevant security agencies in Abuja and Abia State have been alerted to their nefarious plot.

It is important to note that the state government is up to date with the payment of the emoluments of workers in its Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as the workers have already received July 2019 salaries and wish to assure that the administration is actively supporting ailing parastatals to clear outstanding emoluments of workers as well as restructure their operations to ensure that workers are paid as and when due.

Thank you.

Chief John Okiyi Kalu

Honorable Commissioner for Infornation
