BOKO HARAM: NIGERIAN TROOPS HIT HARD, KILL 27 TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS, AMMUNITION

Troops of Sector 1 of the Operation LAFIA DOLE, in joint clearance operations with Cameroonian Defence forces have neutralised scores of Boko Haram terrorists in a fierce battle around lake chad general area.

A statement issued today, Monday by Acting Director Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa indicated the recent encounter took place recently in the Northern part of Wulgo, Tumbuma, Chikun Gudu and Bukar Maryam villages.

According to him, during the operations, 27 terrorists were neutralised, while many arms and ammunition belonging to the terrorists were recovered.

He said among the items are: 5 AK 47 rifles, 2 general purpose machine guns, 4 rocket propelled guns and 1,000 assorted rounds of different calibre ammunition

“There is no casualty on the part of the Nigerian and Cameroonian forces.

“Coordinated military operation is ongoing especially in the fringes of Gombaru – Ngala and surrounding areas to deal with the fleeing bandits running out from Multi-National Joint Task Force (Operation YANCIN TAFKI ) onslaught on their hideouts”, Colonel Musa noted. (DP)
