Following the delay in announcing  election results from Imo North Senatorial zone as well as the federal constituencies, voters yesterday protested to the Imo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The hundreds of voters who blocked the road to INEC office along Portharcourt road also said that the results of Ehime Mbano local government area   brought to Owerri should be returned to the collation center of the Okigwe South   federal constituency.
In another development, Vanguard also gathered that suspected   angry youths have burnt down INEC office in Isiala Mbano local government area, Sunday night due to alleged irregularities, ballot box snatching as well as   intimidation of voters in the area.
Some voters said that before the incident, election materials had been moved out.
At the time of filing this report, among the three senatorial zones, only Imo North senatorial district has not officially announced any results apart from the presidential results.
The situation has been causing unease in the zone as some people alleged that it was an attempt to shortchange some candidates.
One of the protesters at the INEC office who gave his name as Kelechi Amadi, said: “We are not happy. How can they bring Ehime Mbano result of Okigwe South to Owerri?. Why did they not declare the result at the collation centre of the Federal constituency which is Ihette Uboama.?”
