The Abia State chapter of the City Boy Movement has paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, ahead of the planned Abia Mega Empowerment Rally scheduled to hold in Umuahia on April 25, 2026.

The delegation was led by the Abia State Director of the movement, Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, who briefed the minister on preparations for the empowerment programme expected to attract participants from across the state.

Speaking during the visit, Onyejeocha commended the leadership of the movement for organising an empowerment programme which she said aligns with her long-standing political philosophy of youth empowerment and grassroots development.

She expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies she described as stabilising the country and for supporting initiatives like the City Boy Movement, which she said helps bring young people closer to governance and political participation.

The Minister reaffirmed her support for the movement and emphasized that sustainable empowerment has remained a key part of her political journey and public service.

She also urged the leadership of the movement to intensify efforts toward translating their vision into real empowerment programmes that would benefit the people of Abia State.

In his remarks, Don Lulu praised Onyejeocha for what he described as her impactful leadership both in Abia State and at the national level, noting that her empowerment programmes have positively impacted many lives.

He also commended President Tinubu for youth-focused policies and described the City Boy Movement as a strategic platform for engaging young people and integrating them into governance and political participation.

He assured that the movement remains committed to inclusiveness, grassroots mobilisation, and ensuring that no stakeholder is left behind as the organisation continues to expand its activities across Abia State.

According to him, the Mega Empowerment Rally scheduled for April 25 in Umuahia will be a major event aimed at empowering youths, mobilising political support, and expanding participation in governance.

Political observers say the planned empowerment rally is expected to attract political stakeholders, youth groups, community leaders, and supporters from across Abia State.

The visit to the Minister is seen as part of consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the empowerment programme, which organisers say will focus on youth empowerment, support programmes, and political mobilisation across the state.
