“Do Something Or This Country Will Sink” — Baba-Ahmed Sends Strong Warning To Tinubu Over Insecurity, Political Violence

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has sent a strong message to President Tinubu over insecurity and political violence. Click the link below to read the full story.

A former presidential adviser, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has issued a strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to urgently address rising insecurity and growing political violence across Nigeria.

Baba-Ahmed made the statement while addressing national issues shortly after the Ramadan fasting period, where he congratulated Muslims for completing the fasting and then moved to speak on the state of the nation, particularly insecurity and political violence.

According to him, three years into the administration of President Tinubu, Nigeria is witnessing an escalation in violence, insecurity, and attacks across the country, adding that the situation appears worse than many Nigerians expected.

He said the president came into power with promises to improve security, make life safer for Nigerians, and improve living conditions, but noted that the current situation shows that much still needs to be done.

Baba-Ahmed stated that the level of killings, attacks, and insecurity in different parts of the country shows that Nigeria is facing serious security challenges that require urgent and decisive leadership.

He also criticized the president’s recent trip abroad, which he said happened at a time when the country was dealing with serious security attacks in some communities.

According to him, top security officials travelling with the president at such a time sent a wrong signal, especially when communities were mourning victims of attacks and expecting strong leadership and presence from security authorities.

He said even if the trip was important, the situation in the country should have required some top officials to return earlier for symbolic and leadership reasons.

Baba-Ahmed also raised concerns about increasing political violence in Nigeria, especially as the country gradually moves towards the 2027 general elections.

He warned that thugs attacking political opponents, harassment of politicians, and making some areas politically inaccessible to opposition parties is dangerous for democracy.

According to him, politicians should understand that political power is not permanent and that violence in politics could eventually affect everyone.

He warned that Nigeria must not approach the 2027 elections with widespread political violence, intimidation, and attacks on political actors.

In his strong message, Baba-Ahmed warned that Nigeria is currently facing serious challenges and that urgent action must be taken to address insecurity and political violence.

He warned that if the situation is not handled properly, the country could face more serious problems in the future.

He therefore urged the president and political leaders to take immediate steps to address insecurity, stop political violence, and stabilize the country ahead of future elections.
