In a goodwill message issued on Friday, the Governor described Eid-el-Fitr as a significant moment not only for celebration but also for deep reflection on the spiritual lessons learned during the fasting period.
Governor Otti urged Muslims to fully embrace the essence of the season by strengthening their faith and relationship with Allah, while continuing to uphold the values of discipline, sacrifice, and devotion demonstrated during Ramadan.
According to him, the period offers an opportunity for believers to recommit themselves to principles that promote a better society.
The Abia Chief Executive further encouraged Muslims to use the occasion to foster peace, unity, and security across the country, noting that such values are critical to national development and coexistence.
He emphasized that religious celebrations like Eid-el-Fitr should serve as a unifying force, bringing people together regardless of differences.
Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting religious freedom and ensuring fairness among all religious groups in Abia State.
He assured that his government would continue to promote policies that encourage peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among diverse faiths in the state.
On behalf of the Abia State Government, alongside the First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, Governor Otti wished Muslims a joyful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
He also prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and better days ahead for Nigeria as a nation.
The Governor’s message comes as Muslims across Nigeria and the world mark the end of Ramadan, a period characterized by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.
