Ogah to Abians: Protect Otti’s Legacy, Protect Abia’s Future

Dr. Uche Ogah pays New Year homage to Governor Alex Otti and explains why continuity is crucial for consolidating Abia State’s ongoing reforms. Click to read full details.

Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON, former Minister of Mines and Steel Development and Doyen of the Abia Rejoice Movement, has made a strong case for the continuity of Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s administration, declaring that Abia State’s ongoing reforms must not be interrupted at this critical stage.

Dr. Ogah made the call on Tuesday after paying a New Year courtesy visit to Governor Otti at his country home in Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, where he commended the governor’s purposeful leadership and reform-driven governance style.

Describing the new year as a moment for reflection, renewed hope, and strategic recommitment, Ogah said Governor Otti’s administration has, within a short time, shown uncommon political will in addressing the structural and institutional challenges that had held Abia back for decades.

He noted that the visible strides in governance reforms, infrastructural renewal, fiscal discipline, and restoration of public confidence are clear signals that Abia is steadily reclaiming its path to sustainable development. According to him, these achievements are only the foundation of a broader transformation agenda that requires time, consistency, and continuity to fully mature.

Dr. Ogah emphasized that halting a reform process midway often weakens its long-term impact, stressing that sustained leadership is essential for policies, institutions, and projects to deliver lasting results. He therefore urged Ndi Abia, political stakeholders, and well-meaning citizens to rally behind Governor Otti in support of a second term to consolidate the gains already recorded.

The Abia Rejoice leader also pledged his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending the president’s bold reform programmes and describing them as necessary steps toward national recovery and long-term growth.

He explained that his call for continuity is not driven by partisan interest, but by a genuine desire to protect the emerging culture of accountability, transparency, and people-oriented governance in Abia State and Nigeria at large.

As the new year unfolds, Dr. Ogah called on Abians and Nigerians to embrace unity, constructive engagement, and shared responsibility, noting that rebuilding the state and nation requires collective commitment beyond individual ambition.

He concluded by wishing Governor Alex Otti continued strength, wisdom, and clarity of purpose, expressing optimism that with sustained support, Abia State will achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead.
