A respected Nigerian-American journalist, Jackson Ude, has come out strongly in defence of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, describing the recent waves of political attacks against the governor as “unnecessary, misguided and politically futile.”
Ude, a seasoned investigative journalist with over 30 years of professional experience in Nigeria and the United States, respected community leader, philanthropist and a native of Amurie, Nkporo in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State with traditional title Odozi Obodo Nkporo, said the ongoing smear campaigns against Governor Otti are nothing more than a desperate attempt by political forces who have lost relevance in today’s Abia.
In a strongly worded political statement on X former Twitter, the renowned media practitioner declared that no force, alliance, or political gang-up can remove Alex Otti from Government House in 2027, because Abians have already made up their minds based on performance, transparency, and visible development.
According to Ude, the attacks on Otti are not rooted in governance failure, but in fear of a leader who has reset the political equation in Abia State.
“The unnecessary attacks on the performing Governor Alex Otti is a poorly scripted strategy that would do the attackers no political favors,” Ude said.
He insisted that even those plotting behind closed doors already know the truth:
“Nobody can defeat or push Governor Otti out of Abia Government House come 2027. This fact is known to all, including the top.”
Ude explained that Abians have moved beyond political manipulation, godfatherism, and empty slogans. What now matters to the people is visible impact and Governor Otti has delivered across sectors.
The journalist pointed out that Governor Otti’s administration has redefined leadership in Abia through:
-Massive road rehabilitation and urban renewal
-Restoration of civil service discipline and prompt salary payments
-Security stabilisation
-Revitalisation of Aba and other economic hubs and more
According to Ude, these achievements have made it almost impossible for any opposition force to sell an alternative narrative.
“The best the attackers can do is work with Otti. That’s all,” he said bluntly.
Jackson Ude argued that 2027 is no longer a contest of party platforms but a referendum on performance.
Abians, he said, have experienced years of stagnation and regression before 2023. The arrival of Alex Otti marked a political rebirth, and no rational electorate would abandon progress for a return to uncertainty.
“I will work for Otti to win again in 2027 and continue the developmental process for Abia State and her citizens,” Ude declared.
As an Abia son from Nkporo in Ohafia LGA, Jackson Ude said his support for Otti is not political opportunism but a patriotic duty to defend a government that is finally delivering.
He called on politicians, elites, and political merchants to put Abia first, stop the distractions, and allow development to continue uninterrupted.
