Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the Senate, Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, has launched a fresh reconciliation move aimed at restoring unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ohafia Local Government Area ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections.
Hosting all ward chairmen, LGA executives, and secretaries at his country home in Amaekpu Ohafia, Ukwa called for total forgiveness, genuine reconciliation, and a renewed spirit of brotherhood among party members.
Ukwa, a key political mobilizer in Abia North and one of the frontline bridge-builders in the APC family, arrived from Abuja specifically to preside over what some party insiders described as “the most important peace meeting the APC has held in Ohafia in years.”
Addressing the gathering, Ukwa declared that APC cannot hope to win future elections with bitterness, division, and internal hostilities.
According to him, the only formula for victory in 2027 is love, cooperation, and unity of purpose.
“We must forgive each other and bury the hatchet. Peace and cooperation remain the only true panacea for victory in 2027. This is not the season for quarrels or division. It is time to work as one family,” he stated.
Ukwa emphasized that he did not convene the meeting to hear complaints, but to set a clear tone for unity and collective progress.
The Senate President’s aide reassured the party of his complete loyalty, adding that he will continue to deploy his resources, influence, and connections toward strengthening the APC in Ohafia, Arochukwu, and across Abia State.
He also charged ward and LGA leaders to carry every member along, avoid factional tendencies, and desist from actions capable of disintegrating the party’s structure.
In their separate remarks, APC ward and LGA executives praised Ukwa’s leadership and commitment to peacebuilding.
They described him as a unifier whose sacrifices, interventions, and support must be reciprocated through collective loyalty and renewed dedication to the 2027 mission.
They unanimously resolved to work together as one team and ensure APC secures victory in all elective positions come 2027.
