Barcelona considering Marcus Rashford alternatives, Manchester United target midfielder Javi Guerra – Euro Transfer News
In Monday’s Euro Transfer News, Barcelona are said to be considering alternatives to Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. That is not all though. Valencia’s Javi Guerra will apparently get to choose between The Red Devils, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan, while Bayern Munich are optimistic about their chances of keeping star defender Dayot Upamecano.
Barca considering Rashford alternatives
Barcelona are considering alternatives to Marcus Rashford as they look to strengthen the left side of their attack.
Rashford has impressed with the Spanish champions since joining on loan from Manchester United in the summer, scoring six goals and registering nine assists in 16 appearances so far.
However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are “monitoring several young European talents as alternatives”, including Lyon’s Malick Fofana.
The article reads: “They have already spoken with his agents to ascertain the feasibility of the signing. The Lyon club’s precarious financial situation is well known, a predicament that will likely force them to sell their star player this summer.
“Liverpool and Arsenal are the other two teams that have shown the most interest in Malick Fofana, who possesses great technical ability and speed. He is right-footed, but his preferred position is left wing, although he also performs well on the right, even though that position is clearly well covered.”
Manchester, Madrid or Milan for Guerra
Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan will reportedly go head-to-head in the race to secure the signing of Valencia’s Javi Guerra.
The 22-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Spanish side across all competitions this term, producing two assists.
Now Spanish outlet Fichajes is saying that Manchester United will go head-to-head with Milan and Atletico for Guerra’s signature.
“Manchester United have also shown interest in Javi Guerra, who fits into their future plans,” read the article.
“In England, they see him as a versatile midfielder with good physique and stamina, who could adapt to The Red Devils’ system.
“The English club believe they can acquire him for a reduced fee compared to what Valencia asked for a year ago, precisely because of the player’s current situation.”
Bayern confident of keeping Upamecano
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has told Sky Germany that the club are confident Dayot Upamecano will stay with the German giants amid speculation that he may not extend his contract.
Bayern are yet to lose a game so far this season and are currently top of the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League tables.
Upamecano has played a key role in his side’s success, cementing his place as one of the best defenders in Europe.
His contract with the Bundesliga champions is set to expire in the summer, but Freund says that his side can put a great offer on the table.
“You can see Upamecano is in extremely good form and extremely happy,” he said.
“We can offer him a great contract to stay here at Bayern.
“I’m very positive that he’ll be at Bayern for a long time to come.”
