Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad has revealed only condition under which he may consider a Christian/Christian presidential ticket.
Bashir, former media aide to late President Muhammadu Buhari disclosed his stance while answering questions from an X user.
An X user, @Jayden_071 had asked Bashir why he earlier dodged a question of same faith ticket put forward to him.
“But you haven’t answered where someone asked if you would accept a Christian/Christian ticket”, he asked.
Responding, Bashir said he would support Christian/Christina ticket if his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC presents such candidates.
He wrote, “If the political party I belong to presents two Christians whom I believe are the best options for the country, why not?”
DAILY POST reports that there was a public outrage in 2022 when the ruling party presented Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket.
Despite the nationwide outrage especially from the Christian community, the same faith ticket sailed through as President Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima won the election.
