Manchester United enquire about Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Real Madrid keep ‘close eye’ on Florian Wirtz – Euro Transfer News

The latest Euro Transfer News sees Manchester United potentially looking for more strength between the sticks, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen in their sights. Meanwhile, Florian Wirtz’s former manager Xabi Alonso could be ready to swoop with Real Madrid if the German’s fortunes don’t improve at Anfield. West Ham could be in line for a shock loan signing as Dayot Upamecano’s future remains in doubt.

Ter Stegen eyed by Premier League clubs

Manchester United are among a number of clubs who are keen to sign goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the January transfer window.
Despite having brought in Senne Lammens in the summer, Spanish publication Sport says that United, as well as Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur, have enquired about the 33-year-old German’s availability.
Ter Stegen is currently nursing his way back to fitness from a back injury and is expected to be back in action by the time the transfer window opens.
“The Blaugrana club is aware of the significant market for Ter Stegen,” they write. “A top-level goalkeeper who could start for any of Europe’s top clubs.
“At Barca, the German knows it will be difficult to get playing time, and with the World Cup on the horizon, he could consider a move.”
They add: “Specifically, interest is high in the Premier League, where several top teams could sign a goalkeeper in the winter transfer window.
“Newcastle, Tottenham, and Manchester United have all enquired about Ter Stegen.”

Real Madrid told to keep an eye on Wirtz

Xabi Alonso wants Real Madrid to “keep an eye” on Florian Wirtz amid the forward’s slow start to life at Liverpool.
The German winger joined the Premier League champions in a bumper £116m deal at the start of the summer but has struggled for form since his arrival.
According to Defensa Central, Alonso, who worked with Wirtz to great success at Bayer Leverkusen, would be keen to bring the player to the Spanish capital if things don’t work out in England.
“These criticisms have led Xabi Alonso, aware of the need to sign a midfielder, to ask Real Madrid to keep a close eye on Florian Wirtz’s situation for next year, in case the player’s adaptation doesn’t end up being optimal and a move to the club could be considered next summer.
“Real Madrid, who have always been keen on the German, will follow the former Bayer Leverkusen player, especially because Alonso knows him very well and knows the talent he can bring to bear on the pitch.”

Hammers want Endrick loan

Real Madrid are reportedly keen to allow Brazilian star Endrick to go out on loan in January, with West Ham among potential suitors.
Fichajes reports that the 19-year-old striker is not yet ready for a starting berth at the Bernabeu but the club are keen for him to get more playing time as he adjusts to European football.
The struggling Hammers have already made contact with Real but could face competition from La Liga side Valencia and Real Sociedad.
“Real Madrid firmly believes in his potential,” the publication writes. “But they’re aware that he needs to play regularly to adapt to the pace and demands of European football.
“Therefore, the sporting directors are already working on a loan deal that will allow him to regain his playing time and quality minutes in the second half of the season.”
The report adds: “The Hammers’ leadership has already contacted Real Madrid to explore the possibility of an immediate loan.”

Upamecano contract ‘problem’ puts Real Madrid, PSG, Liverpool on alert

Dayot Upamecano is close to signing a new deal to remain at Bayern Munich, although the two parties are yet to finalise any deal.
The French centre-back’s current agreement with the Bundesliga club is up in the summer of 2026, with the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool all monitoring his situation.
German transfer expert Christian Falk revealed that talks are ongoing over a contract extension at the Allianz Arena but the signing-on fee remains a sticking point.
“It’s not a problem about the base salary,” Falk said on his YouTube channel. “It’s a problem about the signing [on] fee.
“Alphonso Davies got about 20 million Euros as a signing fee when he signed a new contract at Bayern Munich.
“Upamecano and his agents know that so they also want a high signing fee, but Bayern at the moment don’t want to pay it.
“So there are many interested clubs at the moment because he is a free agent in the summer.”
