Niger Delta Leaders to Meet President, Senate President, Others in Abuja Today

Leaders from the Niger Delta, under the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), are set to meet with President Bola Tinubu this morning at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

“We (leaders of PANDEF) had an expanded NEC meeting at the Transcorp Abuja yesterday (Monday).

“We shall have an interactive session with Mr. President at the Villa this morning. Later in the afternoon, we shall meet with the Senate President and all National Assembly members from the South-South,” a senior member of the group confirmed.

Following their meeting with President Tinubu, the delegation will also hold discussions later in the afternoon with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and National Assembly members from the South-South region.

PANDEF, founded by the late elder statesman Senator Edwin Clark, serves as the voice of traditional rulers, political leaders, and stakeholders from the coastal states of the Niger Delta.

The forum’s Board of Trustees (BoT) is co-chaired by former governors of old Rivers and Akwa Ibom states, HRM Alfred Diete-Spiff and Obong Victor Attah. Ambassador Godknows Igali, a former federal permanent secretary and diplomat, serves as PANDEF’s National Chairman.
