Kano Police

In Kano State, police have successfully prevented a group of youths from breaking into Sadaraki Stores, even as the protest against hunger sees low turnout. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had earlier warned about potential hijacking of the protests.

Police operatives in Kano State have prevented a group of youths from breaking into Sadaraki Stores, located along Zoo Road in the state capital.

The suspects, whose intentions were unclear, attempted to force their way into the two-story building but were thwarted by the timely intervention of the police.

Although the security operatives arrived promptly, the suspects had already vandalized the building’s windows.

Meanwhile, the protest against hunger, which began today, has seen low compliance in Kano, with many residents opting to stay indoors.

This follows a warning by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Wednesday, who revealed that he had received intelligence about evil-minded individuals planning to hijack the protest.

Governor Yusuf invited genuine protesters to gather at Government House, Kano, while issuing a stern warning to troublemakers to stay away from the state.
