Abuja Faces Fuel Shortage Due To Strike Initiated By Petroleum Tanker Drivers
Several fuel stations are presently shut down in the federal capital Territory, resulting in extended lines of vehicles at the limited number of outlets that are selling premium motor spirit, commonly known as petrol.
On Monday the 18th of February, 2024, the filling station operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited situated on Arab Road in kubwa, Abuja, was not open for business. There were extensive lines of vehicles at the Conoil Gas station located on the Zuba- Kubwa expressway.
Downstream oil sector operators have indicated that the situation arose following the suspension of operations by the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners. This action is in compliance with their earlier announcement to halt activities starting today, Monday the 19th of feburary, 2024.
