BREAKING: VP Shettima arrives Yenagoa for APC’s grand finale rally in Bayelsa [PHOTOS]
Vice President Kashim Shettima has just landed in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state, for the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial rally.
This was disclosed in a social media post by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha.
The rally is in support of former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, who is the party’s candidate for the November 11 governorship election.
Shettima’s arrival at the rally marks a significant moment in the build-up to the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Interestingly, Governor Duoye Diri, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and political rival to Sylva, was also at the airport to welcome the vice president.
Sylva, also a former governor of the state, will slug it out with incumbent Diri and Labour Party’s Udengs Eradiri at the forthcoming election.
