ISUIKWUATO/UMUNNEOCHI FED. CONST: Onyejeocha Loses As Appeal Court Affirms Amobi Ogah’s Victory

The court of appeal sitting in Lagos state has affirmed the election victory of Hon. Amobi Ogah, the member representing Isikwuato- Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State.

Giving ruling on Friday, the appellate court trashed the judgment of the National and State Houses of Assembly Tribunal which nullified the election of Ogah, and declared Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeochi, minister of state Labour and employment winner.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had on February 28, declared Hon. Amob Ogah as the winner of the Isiukwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency election held on February 25, 2023 with a total of 11,769 votes against Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who polled 8,752 votes.
