Two senators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Matthew Urhoghide (Edo South) and Ayo Akinyelure (Ondo Central), have dumped the party.
The duo’s notice of resignation from the PDP was contained in separate letters addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over the plenary on Wednesday, May 31.
In the letter, Senator Urhogide said his decision to resign is because of the inability of the PDP to reconcile the power struggle in the party.
However, the duo did not mention the party they are moving to.
