10th Assembly: APC Debunks Trending Zoning Formula | READ DETAILS
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is yet to decide the zoning of the presiding officers of the 10th Assembly and urged the public to beware of trending zoning formula online.
A terse statement by the spokesperson, Felix Morka today reads: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to versions of zoning arrangements for the 10th National Assembly leadership positions in circulation in sections of social media. The information did not emanate from the Party and should be disregarded.
“To be clear, the Party has yet to zone positions of leadership of the 10th National Assembly. Any decisions made in that regard will be duly communicated via the Party’s official information channels.”
The race for the presiding officers of the 10th National Assembly has hot up despite efforts by the ruling party to douse tension promising to give an agreeable and fair zoning formula which will factor the fault lines without sacrificing competence.
Some of the senators aspiring for the senate president’s seat include: the incumbent, Ahmad Lawan; Godswill AKpabio; Jubril Barau; Orji Uzor Kalu; Abdulaziz Yari among others.
While for the speakership, the deputy speaker, Wase, Benjamin Kalu, Yusuf Gagdi, Mohammed Munguno, are among those who have indicated interest.
