MORE TR0UBLE: R. Kelly Gets Extra 20 Years Jail Term | READ DETAILS
A Chicago federal court on Thursday, sentenced 56-year-old popular R&B singer, R. Kelly to twenty years in prison, in addition to the 30-years jail term he is already serving for child por-nography.
Recall that a New York federal court had in September 2022 convicted the singer for racketeering and se-x trafficking.
Giving judgement on Thursday, a US District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber said that R. Kelly will serve 19 years of the 20-year prison concurrently, or at the same time as his other sentence.
“One year would be served consecutively, or after that sentence is complete” the judge said.
However, the singer’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, said the court judgements would be appealed.
