Customer Drags Benue Hotel Workers To Court Over Missing Money | READ DETAILS

The Benue State Police Command on Wednesday arraigned Charles Fegha, 40, Tersoo Ayen, 32 and Bemdoo Igbahemba, 29 before a Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court 3B for alleged criminal conspiracy, mischief and theft.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Kwegh Abugh, told the court that the case was reported at the Intelligence Bureau, State Police Headquarters Makurdi by one Tarnongo Tiza, a staff of Standard Organisation of Nigeria on Dec. 29, 2022.

Abugh said that the informant had on the same date lodged some of his guests at Trust Resort Hotel located at No. 3 Lucy Aluor street, New GRA Makurdi and parked his car in front of the reception before going in to make a reservation.

He said that the reception is close to the hotel gate where the security post’s CCTV camera could be seen.

“That while out of the reception, he discovered that the driver’s side back door glasses of his car was broken and the sum of N900,000 stolen from the car,” the prosecutor said.

He said during the police investigation, Charles Fegha, Tersoo Ayen, and Bemdoo Igbahemba, all staff of Trust Resort Hotel were arrested for allegedly committing the crime.

He said the accused contravened Sections 97, 329 and 288 of the Penal code Law of Benue State, 2004.

Abugh said the investigation into the matter was still ongoing and requested for additional time to complete it.

However, when the case came up for mention, the accused denied all the allegations preferred against them.

The Magistrate, Mrs Kadoom Gbasha, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with one surety each in like sum, who must be a civil servant with the Benue State Government.

Gbasha adjourned the case to Feb. 20 for further mention.
