EFCC Reacts To Doyin Okupe’s Arrest By The DSS | READ DETAILS
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has acknowledged that it is aware of the Department for State Service (DSS), arresting Dr. Doyin Okupe on Thursday.
ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER had earlier reported that Okupe, a former Director-General of the Peter Obi, Datti Presidential Campaign Council was today, arrested at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The EFCC in a release after Okupe’s arrest said the DSS acted on a watch-list request issued on July 18, 2016 before his recent money laundering charges.
The Commission noted that it was in the process of lifting the watch-list on Okupe before DSS intercepted him.

The Department of State Services, DSS, today, January 12, informed the Commission of the interception of Dr. Doyin Okupe, former presidential adviser, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The Service acted on a Watch-list request issued on July 18, 2016, over six years before his recent conviction on money laundering charges by the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The Commission was in the process of formally lifting the watch-list before his interception and will expedite action in this regard.
Recall that Okupe was convicted in December 2022 by a Federal High court in Abuja over money laundering which led to his resignation as DG, Obi-Datti Campaign Council. READ HERE
