Jubilation As Okwun Ojah Unity Cup Tournament Ends In Ohafia Community, Winner Emerge | WATCH VIDEO + PHOTOS
The battle for the title of best team in the 2022 Unity Cup football tournament powered by Dr. Okwun Ojah (Onwa Ohafia) in Ohafia local government area of Abia state, came to a climax on Sunday, December 25, 2022 with Ebem football team winning the grand prize.
The Ohafia Unity cup had commenced weeks ago with various football teams slugging it out at the various stages.
The final stage of the football tournament between Ebem and Okagbuo teams ended in a penalty shootout of 4:1.
Addressing the players and spectators who graced the tournament from all walks of life, Ojah described the tournament as the best of all soccer.
The Philanthropist described the players who participated in the unity cup as amazing, assuring that in the next 4 years, the Ohafia unity cup tournament will be likened to the world cup.
Break down of the prizes received by the teams are;
Quarter finalists- Nkwobi, Okomaku, Ufiele, Amaekpu and Amangwu Ohafia: N20,000 cash prize for each.
3rd place: Amangwu Ohafia – N200,000.
2nd place: Okagbuo – N300,000.
1st place: Ebem team – N500,000.
Ogbo Obasi – man of the match and also won the golden boot
Uzor Otum – won the golden ball with cash prize
Samuel Obasi – best goal keeper.
