The Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and Member representing Isuikwuato/Ummunneochi Federal Constituency Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, PhD has congratulated Nigeria female Discus champion Chioma Onyekwere on her conferment of national award of Member Order of the Niger MON by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Friday at her country home, Dr Onyejeocha noted that the highly coveted award will add steam to the promotion of the dignity of labor and patriotism and would therefore have a multiplier effect on young men and women in Nigeria who would be inspired by the national honors to put in their best into their chosen careers.
The lawmaker described Chioma as symbol of hope not just to her home state of Abia but to the entire nation on whose mandate and honor she is making waves at the global stage.
Hon Nkeiruka thanked President Buhari for placing high premiums on sports and recognition of the contributions of women and young to the greatness of Nigeria.
