Archbishop of Methodist Church, Umuahia, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr Chibuzo Raphael Opoko has admonished politicians not to campaign what they cannot give as they would be held accountable for their promises.

Speaking during the unveiling of the campaign council and running mate to Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State Dr. Alex Otti OFR,  Opoko noted that although he is not a party man, or a card carrying member of any party, he accepted the invitation because it is a request from one of his sons, of which he could not decline as it was a platform and opportunity to speak to people and politicians alike.

Archbishop Opoko who regretted the state of things in the state and country charged the people to rise against bad leaders and politicians.

“We cannot continue like this; no water, no roads, no electricity and food”

“Poverty has no religion or ethnicity, and that is why all of us must rise against it. We must rise to take back our nation from the hands of corrupt politicians”

He noted that the time has come for politicians to know that young people will no longer tolerate those of them who joke with their destinies, as they must now be held accountable and asserted that he will encourage youths to throw out politicians that do not perform.

He advised people to use their PVCs to make a statement in the general elections in 2023, while urging journalists to always be factual in the dissemination of information.
