The Academic Staff Union of Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu (ASCETA) have issued a notice of a three (3) day warning strike set start on Monday 22nd August 2022 due to non payment of salary for over 25 months.

In a press release signed by the union leader in ASCETA Comrade Kelvin Egesi and made available to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, the union accused the management of the institution of negligence to the plight of the workers and insensitivity.

Other issues stated by the union as reason to embark on the warning strike includes; Non-implementation of the approved COMPCASS/CONTEDISS salary structure, non remittance of arrears of over 40 months deducted check off dues, non reversal of 10% to 15% deductions from staff salary, non-implementation of promotion  with financial benefit since 2008 and non-payment of pension and gratuity to retired members.

Recall that Abia State Polytechnic and Abia State University Teaching Hospital accreditations were both withdrawn due to many months of unpaid salaries. SEE DOCUMENTS ATTACHED BELOW;
