Akwa Ibom: Man Sentence To 14 Year Imprisonment |Read Why

Thirty-five year-old native of Mbiabet Ikpe in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Godwin Augustine Eyo has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for defiling five year old girl.
According to a judiciary correspondent of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation, Harrison Essien, Eyo was sentenced today by the State High Court sitting in Essien Udim presided over by Hon. Justice Uwem Ibritam
The Court found him guilty of defilement punishable under Section 219 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. 2, Laws of Akwa Ibom State.
Eyo was arrested first February, 2019 at Ukana Uwa East, Essien Udim, where he committed the crime and was arraigned 5th February, 2019 when he pleaded not guilty to the one count charge.
