2023 BATTLE: Tinubu Gathers APC Govs. After Yemi Osibanjo’s Declaration | DETAILS
In less than 12 hours after Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo declared his intention to contest for the 2023 presidential race under the All Progressive Congress (APC), another aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has gathered some governors under the party.
Tinubu who had declared same interest weeks ago, invited the APC governors to a closed door meeting at the Kebbi state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The governors in attendance include Governors Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Mai Mala Binu of Yobe, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, amongst others.
AFNEWS had reported that Osibanjo met with 12 governors of the APC to keep them abreast with his presidential intention before his formal declaration today.
Tinubu having a meeting behind closed doors with the governors have raised speculations that he may be afraid of Osibanjo’s ‘daring’ interest .
