Kwara state High Court sitting in Ilorin the state capital, on Friday, sentenced 20-year-old Oyelowo Mayowa Fawas posing as an ‘American prostitute’ to one year imprisonment.
Fawas who hails from Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State, was arraigned by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds to the tune of N57.8m.
The anti graft agency told Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar that Fawas, among others things, disguised as ‘a white female professional prostitute’, practicing in the United States of America, to swindle his unsuspecting victims of various sums before he was arrested.
