It was a moment of joy and fanfare in Arochukwu Town School, Arochukwu as the Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, handed over a Block of Class Room/ office, which he facilitated, to the school authorities.
Speaking shortly before the commissioning/handover, the facilitator, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, explained that when he was contesting as a Lawmaker, he promised God that if he helped him to win his election, he will improve education infrastructure in Arochukwu LGA.
The Lawmaker thanked God that the building has become a reality, after many years of neglect owing to dilapidation, expressing delight that he’s made the pupils who will use of the building, to have a sense of belonging.
Hon. Ukoha, further stated that the new building, will create enabling environment for the pupils to learn and teachers to teach.
He used the medium to highlight some of his numerous achievements and the ongoing move to export to overseas food stuff locally produced in Arochukwu LGA.
The Minority Whip thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for signing the Abians in Diaspora Commission Bill into law and the Presidency for commending it as the first across the 36 states, while thanking everyone for coming to witness the occasion.
In his remark, the Arianzu Arochukwu Kingdom, Mazi Kanu Okoro, thanked the Lawmaker for such great feat done by him, stating that this is the first time in history that he is experiencing such thing from a politician.
He prayed God to continue to bless him in his legislative assignment for the betterment of the people.
Also speaking, the Education Secretary, Arochukwu LGA, represented by Mrs. Regina Kanu, thanked Hon. Ukoha, for putting smiles on the faces of the pupils.
She said posterity will be kind to him for helping in elevating educational standard in Arochukwu LGA because he knows the importance of education while thanking all those who came to witness the occasion.
In her welcome address, the Head Mistress of the benefiting school, Arochukwu Town School 1, Mrs. Roseline Nwafor, represented by the Assistant Head Mistress, Mrs. Helen Umeh, thanked the Lawmaker for remembering the school, stressing that it is a great achievement in the school and Arochukwu Kingdom.
She stated that with what has happened, the teachers attitude towards their job, will drastically improve.
In their separate speeches, the President Nzuko Arochukwu Women’s Wing, Mrs. Blessing Okoro, a stakeholder in the area, Barr. Mrs. Carol Dike-Okorafor, Mrs. Charity Oti, and others danced a joyous dance, extolling the qualities of the Lawmaker and his good works ever since he was elected.
They unanimously prayed God to bless their son who has been remembering his people in many intervention ways, stating that God will continue to be with him in his future ambitions.
Highlights during the occasion includes cutting of the tape to commission the new school, group photograph of the Lawmaker with some pupils of the school among others.
