The Officer in charge of Suleja correctional centre, and also an Assistant Controller of Corrections, AbdulRahman Musa, has allegedly seduced, impregnated and married the wife of an inmate.
The woman who regularly visits her husband who is awaiting trial on charges of armed robbery and possession of illegal firearms, was said to have complained to relatives that she could no longer bear seeing her husband behind bars indefinitely, adding that she would be willing to file for a divorce.
Following this development, the inmate (name withheld) approached the officer in charge, ACC Musa to help talk to his wife and discourage her from filing for a divorce.
Musa took advantage of the couple’s predicament to sleep with the woman and impregnated her.
A source told Vanguard; “Having gotten her pregnant, he then proceeded to tie the knots with her without even his own Personal Assistant knowing. He did everything in secret to the point that not a single personnel knew about it”.
On resumption from his secret wedding , Musa reportedly offered the inmate N10,000, advising him to forget the wife who he described as ‘a useless woman’.
After narrating his ordeal to his fellow inmates, they were said to have staged a protest.
Musa who tried to calm the situation met got his face bathed with faeces and urine of the infuriated inmates.
Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory FCT Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), said it has begun an investigation into allegations of an intimate relationship between ACC Musa and the wife of an inmate under custody at Suleja Custodial Centre.
this was contained in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Chukwuedo Humphrey.
The statement read in part;
“Controller Maiyaki upon getting the report has further informed the Controller General of Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa mni, and acting upon the directives of the Controller General, has instituted a full-blown investigation into the matter and also for unhindered access to investigation and justice, Mr Musa has been deployed out of Suleja Custodial centre.
