SCAM! The Spy Police recruitment

The recent recruitment of the unemployed youth into Spy Police by the Nigerian government to help reduce the unemployment dilemma and as well fight the insecurity in the country is a welcome development.

However, some people have taken the advantage of the recruitment to scam some unemployed youth thereby collecting money from them in exchange for their employment into the force as Spy Police Officers but, thereafter, issued fake appointment letters and the police identity cards to them to believe their appointments are authentic.

A police officer allegedly collected N200,000 from an applicant to help secure a slot into the force as a spy police officer.

I called to hear from the officer but she threatened me with her position as a police officer, thinking that the threat would make me to let go the scam unexposed and unpunished.

There is a transfer evidence of N150,000 into the officer’s account as part payment for the said job and, thereafter, N50,000 was collected from the victim to make up N200,000.

My investigation into the matter has shown that many unemployed youth are victims of this same spy police job by different police officers. While speaking with some police officers that volunteered information but warned I should not mention their names, they revealed that many unemployed youth have been given fake appointment letters and the police identity cards, asking questions to know if the said letters and Identity cards are genuine since they have been with them for months and even for a year without being called by the police authority to start work.

The evidence are boldly available for examination, and I am calling on other unemployed youth that are victims of this same spy police job scam to contact me via my email and phone number I will provide after the writing of this piece to enable me follow up on their case and get justice for them.

Let me at this point call on the police authority to investigate the matter refund the money received via fraud.

Mpape, Abuja.
