Residents of Kanamma in Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State, have fled into the bush due to the ongoing attack by the Boko-Haram terrorists on the community.

Kanamma, the birthplace of Boko -Haram insurgency in the state, is about 200 kilometer from Damaturu, the State capital in northeast Nigeria.

According to some residents, some of the Boko-Haram militia were seen prior to the attack, but they could not report due to fear.

According to DAILY POST, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yobe Police Command, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim,  confirmed the attack.

He said, there was a Boko- Haram insurgents attack on Kanamma, but unfortunately, they lost contact with Police in Kanamma due to the absence of mobile network in the area.

“We will update you when we reach out to them,” he said.

This is coming barely 24 hours after reports claimed that the Boko Haram spiritual leader, Abubakar Shekau had appointed a new War Commander.
