Sir Celestine Nwogwugwu, Phd, has celebrated former Abia state Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku on his 49th birthday celebration.
In his felicitation message, Nwogwugwu described the celebrant as a thoroughbred professional banker, a technocrat, an intellectual and the true face of Abia revival.
Nwogwugwu wrote;
Happy birthday Chief Obinna Oriaku, Ekwedike ekwuola 1 of Abia state. May your days be long and your dreams fulfilled. You have proven to be a thoroughbred professional who knows his onions.
You have equally shown class and uncommon intellectual depth rarely seen in the recent history of Abia state and among your peers. Your biggest testimony in my estimation is that God has granted you the utterance to defend your years of stewardship in Abia state, and to profoundly exonerate yourself from the garbage of highhandedness your detractors heaped on you.
As a seasoned technocrat, with decades of banking and public sector experience, you came to Abia ,albeit pro- Bono, to engender top- notch policies that has stood the text of time. You did not only automate salaries from hitherto analogue regime, you overhauled the entire local government and civil service systems.
As Abia Commissioner of Finance ,your name elicited fear and caution at the same time because, fiscal discipline became the order. The chief executive of Innoson motors recently testified to your piety in office. Don’t ask me what happened after you exited that office! No thanks to the serial conspirators and power contractors. But you have trudged on nevertheless, and have remained the most vocal, and arguably the most analytical opposition element in Abia state. Most impressive is that you keep your arguments clean, pragmatic and devoid of witch hunting.
In fact, you teach somebody like me the economics of Abia state. By my rating, you are the true face of Abia Renaissance. I hear rumors of your ambition to offer yourself for the Governorship seat? If it’s true then, that is the best thing that will happen to ndi Abia. Nwannem idi loaded, and the least we expect is that you will graciously offload all that is in your kitty into the recovery and development of Abia state.
Happy birthday once more and many happy returns.
