A chieftain of the Labour Party Nigeria in Abia State, Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has reaffirmed the unity of the party in Bende Federal Constituency and called on members to remain committed to the administration of Alex Otti while strengthening the party’s grassroots structure through the ongoing electronic registration exercise.
Anyaso made this known during a stakeholders’ meeting in Bende, where party leaders and members gathered to discuss the future of the party, unity among members, and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the meeting, Anyaso reassured stakeholders that there is no division within the Labour Party in Bende, emphasizing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.
He commended party faithful for their loyalty, dedication, and continued commitment to the party, noting that their support has helped strengthen the party’s structure across the constituency.
He urged members to remain united and focused, stressing that internal unity would play a major role in determining the party’s success in future elections.
Anyaso also urged party members and stakeholders to continue supporting Governor Alex Otti, stating that the success of the state government is important to the growth and credibility of the Labour Party in Abia State.
He noted that the party must work together to support the government’s policies and programs while continuing to build strong grassroots support across communities in Bende Federal Constituency.
The Labour Party stalwart also encouraged members to mobilize their friends, supporters, and well-wishers to participate in the ongoing electronic registration exercise of the party, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening the party ahead of future elections.
According to him, the registration exercise will help the party build a strong database of members and supporters across the constituency and the state at large.
He emphasized that strong grassroots membership would play a major role in the party’s future political success.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Anyaso expressed confidence that the Labour Party would present a credible and competent candidate to represent Bende Federal Constituency.
He stressed that leadership must be driven by humility, integrity, and empathy for the people, noting that public office should be about service to the people rather than personal or family interests.
According to him, the constituency deserves a representative with a clean record, proven character, and a genuine interest in the welfare of the people.
