2023: Philanthropist ‘Angela Johnson’ Declares For Presidency Under APGA

A philanthropist and a presidential candidate in the 2019 elections, Rev. Lady Angela Johnson on Thursday, March, 31st, declared to run for the presidency under the platform of All Progress Grand Alliance (APGA)

 

She made this declaration at the party secretariat in Umuahia.

 

According to her, it is a divine call that she has decided to obey as things have deteriorated in the country, and needs someone with a burning desire like her to restore Nigeria.

She said that her intention to contest for the number one office of the nation was not sparked by the desire for money, because God has blessed her with lots of it, but from a deep desire to effect positive change.

 

Lady Johnson berated leaders and different political parties that have governed the country as they have mismanaged the resources, according to her, and have plunged the citizens of Nigeria into unbearable hardship.

She said that she would restore Nigeria to her glory days, when, AIRWAY, NITEL (Telecommunication company), NNPC and other companies in the country actively functioned and provided jobs for the youths.

 

Responding to her declaration, the APGA State Chairman, Hon. Rev. Augustine Ehiemere lauded her for her courage and boldness to contest the presidency, unlike other women who only clamor for gender equality and inclusiveness in government on social media.

He urged her not to be discouraged in the presidential journey no matter what happens on her way to becoming the president come 2023 as women face a lot of marginalization in politics.
