2023: Igbos Have Confidence In Atiku’s Promise -Orji Says As Abia PDP Inaugurates PCC

 

Ahead of the 2023 election cum the anticipated visit of Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Abia state, the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign Council, have been formally inaugurated.

The inauguration of the campaign council members held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Michael Okpara auditorium in Umuahia in the presence of prominent stakeholders and party leaders.

Members of the council include, the deputy governor of Abia State, sir Ude Okochukwu, Honourable Nkem Uzo Agbonta, Right Honourable Alwell Asiforo Okere, all senatorial and House of Representative candidates, among others.

Speaking to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji, the south east coordinator, Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign and the current senator representing Abia Central, described Atiku Abubakar and his running mate governor Ifeanyi Okowa as solid candidates for the 2023 presidential race.

According to Orji, Atiku is the best and most qualified candidates among his rivals as he has garnered lots of experiences having been a vice president.

He assured that Atiku will keep to his promise of handing over to an Igbo man as being clamored for after his tenure.

“He (Atiku) does not play with Igbos; he has promised what he will do for Igbos when he leaves office. Ala Igbo has confidence in Atiku just as he has confidence in us” the senator added.

Earlier in his address while Inaugurating the campaign council members, Senator Orji charged the members selected from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, to show commitment, be loyal, hardworking and avoid betrayal in the quest to take over power from the APC.

The former governor of the state expressed confidence that 2023 elections will be transparent, adding that Abia will remain a PDP state.

Speaking, the Abia state PDP chairman, Right Honourable Alwell Asiforo Okere said that the party has all it needs to win an election, however party members needs to imbibe the spirit of Christ which includes; forgiveness, peace and unity.

“We have thee structure. human beings and the energy. All we need is the spirit of Christ. The desired peace and unity we desire in the party, I have seen it today” Okere added.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated members of Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, Honourable Nkem Uzo Agbonta pledged that they will do everything within their power to incur victory come 2023.

Agbonta appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to put aside their differences and rally round Atiku whom the party has chosen as party remains supreme.

Other dignitaries at the inauguration include;

Right Honourable Acho Nwakanma, former deputy governor of Abia state; Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, BoT member of the PDP; Senator Adolphus Wabara, BoT Chairman, PDP; Senator Emma Nwaka, former senator representing Abia North; Right Honourabe Chikwendu Kalu, former speaker at the Abia state House of Assembly and a presidential aspirant; Dr Eme Okoro, former Secretary to the State government, among others.
