The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State are presently at Ibrahim Shekarau’s residence in Kano

This is as Shekarau is expected to defect to the PDP on Monday, after years of leaving for the All Progressive Party (APC) in 2019 were he won a senatorial seat on the platform of the running party.

The senator however had a fallout with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State which led to his defection to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Again, the lawmaker’s relationship with Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, who later clinched the NNPP presidential ticket, went sour after some of his loyalists failed to get the party’s tickets to contest in next year’s general elections.

According to Channels, Prominent PDP members at the event include former Vice President Namadi Sambo; the party’s BOT chairman, Walid Jibrin; former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido, and Senator Dino Melaye.

PDP faithful defied the downpour to witness the event in the commercial city.
