The Alex Otti Foundation has awarded scholarship for the year 2022 edition, to 26 undergraduates studying in various public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The new scholars who were selected after a rigorous process were inducted into the scholarship scheme on Saturday, July 23, 2022 during the Alex Otti Foundation scholarship banquet held at Mater dei cathedral Umuahia, Abia state.

Out of the numerous participants from the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia state, 26 undergraduates who are Abians and residents in Abia scaled through to the last stage.

Addressing the scholars, the founder of the scheme who is also the Gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party in Abia, Dr. Alex Otti reaffirmed his commitment to give back to the society.

“We won’t stop. We will continue to intervene in the education of our children. As scholars, you must live an exemplary life” Otti charged the beneficiaries.

He advised them to maintain their good academic record, warning that they will go off the scheme if they go below the benchmark of 3.5 CGPA for universities and 2.8 for Polytechnics and colleges of education.

“Our expectation is to have from among you, great men and women, professors, tech guys and others. We want to see you square up with your mates in UK and China” Otti admonished.

Appreciating the foundation on behalf of other scholars, Chidinma Nwatu, a computer science undergraduate in the university of Ibadan expressed gratitude to the Foundation assuring that the scholars will make the foundation proud.

“Winning the scholarship has inspired me to give back to the people” she said.

“We will continue to make you proud in our academics and career” she added.
