Police sources at the zone 9 commands, said Ojisi was taken to the INEC office, Umuahia for the verification of the documents he claimed were certified by the commission. However, the police team discovered that the stamp and documents did not emanate from INEC.

The police further discovered that the names of purported INEC officials who certified the documents; Nwagbara and Amos, are not members of staff of the commission.

An INEC staff said,”The documents were forged, they did not emanate from us. INEC has a unique of certifying true copies. Before you get a certified true copy, you must apply and pay for it. The officer must certify the documents with his full names, not initials. But in this case, even the names of the officials who certified the fake documents are not on the INEC staff list. The nominal roll of Abia INEC was brought to the police and they confirmed that the names are fake. The stamp does not belong to INEC.”
