… “This is your time to take off, take flight, and take your place”—Chinasa charges Abia creatives
In a bold and urgent call to action, the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, has declared that the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Abia creatives to redefine their future—and the time to act is now.
Hon. Chinasa made the passionate appeal following the federal government’s recent unveiling of the Creative Economy Development Fund, a game-changing initiative designed to empower Nigeria’s creative minds with funding, mentorship, and access to global markets.
According to Hon. Chinasa, the fund is not just an economic empowerment scheme—it’s a launching pad for Abia’s immense pool of talent.
“From the fashion innovators in Aba to the filmmakers in Umuahia, Abia State is brimming with some of the finest creative minds in Africa,” Hon. Chinasa said. “The CEDF is the exact support system many of them need to break through.”
$100,000 in Funding, Mentorship, and Global Exposure
The CEDF is offering funding of up to $100,000 to successful applicants, alongside access to industry mentorship, infrastructure support, and structured pathways to commercialize and export their work globally.
Chinasa described the initiative as a rare gateway for creatives across Abia State, cutting across disciplines such as:
- Film and music production
- Fashion design and content creation
- Photography and animation
- Digital marketing, art, and multimedia enterprises
“This fund is the runway. Let your creativity be the aircraft. Abia must not be left behind while the world advances into Africa’s creative economy boom,” he charged.
How to Apply for the Creative Economy Development Fund
Hon. Chinasa outlined the simple steps Abia creatives must follow to access the fund:
Visit www.CEDFNigeria.com
- Fill the official CEDF Application Form
- Submit all required documentation before the June 30, 2025 deadline
- Be prepared to respond to follow-up questions during evaluation
He stressed the need for early action, as thousands across the country are already applying.
“This is not just about money—it’s about structure, mentorship, and positioning. This is Abia’s chance to connect with national and international markets, to scale ideas into industries, and to transform passion into prosperity.”
Call to Action for Communities and Stakeholders
The National Assembly Liaison Officer did not stop at urging individuals. He called on community influencers, youth leaders, trade associations, and religious groups to spread the word and assist aspiring applicants.
“Let us rise from Abia North to Abia South. Let our markets roar and our talents soar. The world must not talk about Africa’s creative revolution while we watch from the sidelines,” he concluded.
For further assistance, interested applicants are encouraged to visit the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Office or go directly to the official website: www.CEDFNigeria.com.
